Hi there! Welcome to the beginnings of the Solis et Lunae Pack. The alphas are currently busy creating the pack, and we will probably be up on WolfQuest in a few weeks or so.

The Auctor:
The History of the Pack

The story of the pack is a long, confusing tale, and it is unclear which parts are myth and which are truth. This is their story, often called "the Auctor" - which mean "The History" in the ancient language. But is it real.. or not real? It is yours to decide.

Once, in a land where the mountains met the plains, a wolf pack ruled the surrounding lands in harmony. The pack’s leaders, Reyna and Audax, were siblings, and although they didn’t necessarily get along, they were able to put their differences aside for the sake of the pack. Over time though, the rivalry between the two got more extreme, and the pack was split into two smaller packs. The reason behind this is unclear – some think that it was caused by jealousy and others a family feud. Although they were still all Solis et Lunae wolves, they were divided internally. The Velox, led by Reyna, made their home on the flat plains, while the Thrax, with their alpha Audax, ruled the vaulting mountains above them. They continued for a while, in their delicate peace, only meeting occasionally to talk about issues and concerns with the entire pack.

Many years passed, and Audax and Reyna grew old while the pack prospered around them. They both had many pups, and their line was almost guaranteed to live on. They were both convinced that they would reach the end of their lives in peaceful ways, and they both knew that they didn’t have much more time until their heirs would take over for them. Because of this, their guard was slowly being let down.

Now, the territory that they lived in was a desirable one. Many had wanted it through the years, but the pack was strong and nobody dared make a move against the honorable but divided pack that made their home there. But one wolf, Deleo, had an evil mind and great ambition. He had been banished from the pack, even though his own father-an honorable wolf- had been a son of Audax and his mate. They say in the Forgotten Forest he gathered his small army, too lost in his own plans of revenge to see the consequences of his actions. He planned to take down the alphas, weakened by age, and destroy any heirs and leaders that he could find. Deleo planned on bringing the pack to its knees, and take over the land and rule it himself. His planning and scheming had no end, and it was a well-kept secret. Nobody dared walk into the Forgotten Forest, and anybody who did was silenced forever by the rouge wolves who found the unlucky soul.

Weeks passed, months, and Deleo and his pack were finally ready to make their way into the meeting that would take place at sundown. Nobody knows exactly what would have happened if a small wolf, a granddaughter of Reyna, had not seen them from atop a ridge as they travelled down it. Her name has been lost through the years, although she has been remembered by her final actions. She was not extremely fast, not strong, but she was brave and managed to get to the meeting right before the rouges did. She was able to tell them what she saw, but by then the enemy had crashed into the area and chaos took hold of the confused and surprised pack.

The pack wolves, so used to peace, were taken by surprise at the suddenness of the attack, although Reyna’s granddaughter was able to give them at least a bit of warning. And after hours of vicious battle – in which most wolves were killed – the pack was simply overtaken by the viciousness of Deleo and his pack. Reyna, Audax, and most of their offspring and council members had been slaughtered. All except two… nobody knows exactly how the two escaped, although everybody can agree that their doing so helped save the pack in a way. The nameless wolf’s daughter, Lumen, and Audax’s beta, Duis, were able to flee after they saw the hopelessness of the battle. Some would call it cowardly, but in the end their actions ended up preserving the pack. Some others may have escaped the carnage that had happened that day, but if there were they were never heard of again.

Lumen was pregnant at the time, and in early spring she gave birth to puppies. Duis and Lumen were roaming the area together, homeless, packless, and afraid that Deleo was still out there hunting them. Lumen was afraid for her pups, and she took extra precautions to make sure her dear ones – the last of the great line of the alphas – would stay safe.
The small group lived in hiding for 39 moon cycles until the pups – now grown and strong- were old enough to set out for themselves. They had heard stories of the Solis et Lunae Pack, and two of them vowed to their parents that they would do whatever it took to get the pack back on its feet.

Those two wolves were none other than Sesi and Diesel, the new alphas of the reformed Solis et Lunae Pack. Although the pair is still making a name for themselves and their new pack, they hope that one day their efforts – along with the new members – will restore the pack to great honor, glory, and prosperity. The young wolves wandered for many moons, a year and a half, before they found the old, forgotten territory. Deleo was gone, or for there was no sign of life in the hills that had once been their mother's home. As they set about exploring and taking control of their new home, they couldn't help but think - could they raise the Solis et Lunae Pack out of the ashes from which it had been destroyed?
